Day 5 - Capital, Library of Congress, Mount Vernon

Thursday we started out at our nation's capital. Tanaya's friend, Katie, works for senator Joe Lieberman and agreed to take us on a personal tour of the capital. We even got to see senate in session but there were only about six senators there so I don't know how they run our country like that!
After the tour we got a quick picture by the Supreme Court building then went to the Library of Congress. I wanted to get a library card there but the signs all said they were for researchers only so I didn't dare.
That afternoon we headed out to Mount Vernon. It is on the banks of the Potomac River and has an awesome view. The estate is gigantic and is only 1/4 the size today as it was when Washington owned it.

  1. Thanks for all the pictures! It looks like such a fun trip! And you're getting good at making collages (the hard way)!
