Primary February 28

Today in Primary we learned about Jesus' childhood. We saw a picture of what his house may have looked like. In those days they had to get water from a well. They probably slept on mats on the floor. They didn't have electricity like we do, they had to use lamps. When Jesus was 12 his family accidently left him in Jerusalem. Mary and Joseph found him three days later in the temple talking with men who had studied the scriptures a great deal. We got some salt dough and made a bowl like Jesus may have used. We got to eat some dried fruit and meat like Jesus may have had (we didn't all want to taste that food though)!

Sister Lotz will be out of town for the next two weeks and won't be updating this blog. We will have a substitute teacher. Here are the lessons we will have:

March 6: I Can Speak with Heavenly Father in Prayer
March 13: I Can Tell Others about Jesus Christ

Primary February 21

To my primary parents: Today in Primary we learned about how Heavenly Father watches over us just like he watched over Jesus when He was on earth. King Herod wanted to kill Jesus but Heavenly Father told Joseph to take his family into Egypt to live for awhile. Jesus’ family lived in Egypt until King Herod died. Then Heavenly Father told Joseph that it was safe to take his family back to Israel.
We heard stories about how Heavenly Father watched over a president of our church, David O. McKay, when he was young and thought there were burglars in his house. Heavenly Father told him everything would be ok, and it was. Elder Hugh B Brown, who became an apostle in the church, also felt Heavenly Father watch over him when he was on his mission in England.
We learned that Heavenly Father watches over us and loves us very much.

Primary February 14

To my primary parents: Today in Primary we learned about the birth of Jesus Christ. We dressed up like shepherds and pretended we were in the fields watching the sheep when the angels came to tell us about Jesus’ birth. We also had a new mother come to tell us about when she had her new baby. She was so excited to have a baby and loves that baby very much. Many people at Jesus’ time were excited about his birth too. I’m glad Jesus was born too! We talked about our birthday. I’m sure my parents were very excited about my birth and I know they love me very much!

Primary Lesson Feb 14, 2010 - Happy Valentine's Day!!

I'm going to post my primary lessons here so my class parents can see what we're learning about each week. (Hopefully I make time to keep it up!) I hope to write a little about class each Sunday after church so my class parents can talk to their child about what they learned that day.
